Are sneeze guards required?

We, as a nation, are being confronted by one of life's most troubling mysteries; nevertheless, we need to resolve and face the struggle that is yet to come. Though we are on the path to social and economic progress, the very risk of a relapse remains a threat to both of us. There is a safe and successful future ahead of us, but we need to follow a different paradigm in our everyday life. Sneeze Guards are a tool that not only will facilitate those 'challenges,' but will be cemented into our everyday lives for the foreseeable future.

While shared interactions are once again on the rise of normality, we have moved into a societal attitude that sees a mere sneeze as a danger. Risks correlated with in-person contact ought to be treated correctly and with proper caution. Businesses around the world are opening their doors to the public again. Such acts entail threats for both staff and the clientele engaging without deliberately cross-contaminating each other.

Public health professionals and government leaders have consistently emphasized that social distancing is the safest approach to speed down the spread of coronavirus. However, several companies are unable to successfully hold individuals at least six feet apart merely because of their company's complexity. For companies and businesses such as these,  where social distancing is not an option, Sneeze Guards may lend the helping hand they direly need.

Sneeze guards are not safety equipment, but they have the characteristics that lead to safer social interactions. In fact, Sneeze Guards provide consumers with additional security when they slowly re-enter the so-called modern world of daily life. Installing Sneeze Guards reflects the dedication of a company to the safety of its workers. Following N95 masks and plastic gloves, sneeze covers have been another modern symbol with the latest pandemic. Sneeze Guards function well when they are implemented with other validated approaches to lowering the risks of contamination, including improved cleaning and grooming procedures.

Although the CDC encourages the use of Sneeze Guards to defend against COVID-19, there are currently no enforceable federal guidelines or regulations specifying shields for this particular subject. The FDA regulates food security guards only, allowing buffet restaurants, hospital and school cafeterias, and more to display Sneeze Guards.

Several of the country's most influential groups have already steadily called for emergency measures to safeguard the safety of essential employees against COVID-19. The public has joined hands to encourage OSHA to implement enforceable Coronavirus Employee Emergency Regulations for all workers who have opted to comply with COVID-19, including store managers, device technicians and healthcare professionals.
